Research & Development

Starting from a technical feasibility, going then over to a study on reaction and stress to which used materials and components will be subject to, achieving then a real consultation regarding a complete assembly solution: that is what Sater does offer.

Qualified Technicians and Innovative Simulation Tools

Our fix points, based on which we want to guarantee to our Customers a full collaboration, are: starting from ideas and preliminary designs to find together the most functional and economic solution and to intervene on problems looking for the less invasive possible solution. For this purpose, we avail ourselves on qualified and competent technicians having on their disposal the most innovative simulation tools.

Collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Turin

We are asked very often to offer innovative solutions to be realized by means of the cold forging technique to prevent definitely higher costs that distinguish turned products: we turn this conversion possible approaching it scientifically by studying accurately any geometry and materials' characteristic.

We established therefore a solid and fruitful collaboration with the POLITECNICO DI TORINO focusing in particular on the study of any in the production used material's characteristic. This collaboration spreads from analyzing materials' composition and morphology to the study of the lubricating action through Disc on Disc tribological tests and T-Shape compression tests.

Cases' History

There are so many examples that could be told about the successful Co-Design partnership between SATER and its Customers; not least a solution designed with a big multinational corporate belonging to the household appliance branch. We proposed to the Customer, based on deep going studies on geometries by means of the last findings in the simulation field, a perfect product corresponding to its needs.

Thanks to the collaboration with the POLITECNICO DI TORINO we had been also able to switch over from a steel applied for turning processes to a steel applied for cold forging processes maintaining any functionality of the assembled part being used by the Customer. This component can be found right now worldwide in almost all dishwashers! This is just one example of an important goal achieved through research and customer sized design.
